New courses

Quite a number of new courses are being launched during 2008. Some are updated and revised versions of existing courses, while others reflect the changing nature of publishing itself. Our customers remain the best source of new ideas, so please keep them coming in!

Perhaps the most exciting new title is a joint venture between PTC and the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM). Digital Marketing for Publishers is a two-day course that draws heavily on one of the IDM’s most popular programmes, but which has been customised for a publishing audience. It will help you identify which elements of digital marketing are potentially most useful to you and how to incorporate them into the marketing planning process.

On a similar theme, we’ve recently introduced Web 2.0: Opportunities and Threats, which ran for the first time on 6 December 2007. If you’ve ever wondered how you can make best use of blogs, Wikis, social networks and podcasting, this course has the answers.

Other new programmes include more advanced courses in InDesign and Photoshop, while our two Adobe Acrobat courses have been merged into a single two-day course: Adobe Acrobat: Efficient Use of PDFs. This is a very detailed and versatile programme, which will help you create PDFs for virtually any purpose.

Finally, for anyone with responsibility for maintaining a web site, we’ve launched Dreamweaver and HTML for Non-Developers. The focus of this course is on the popular Dreamweaver software, but delegates will also get a good general understanding of how web pages are put together, of technologies such as Flash and JavaScript, and of various web standards.
