Training and careers in publishing
An alliance of trade associations and related organisations across the whole spectrum of publishing, the PSG aims to promote and improve education, training and development - and to anticipate the industry’s future skills needs.
A site created by the Publishing Skills Group (see above), containing a wealth of information about careers and training across the whole spectrum of print and electronic publishing - books, journals, magazines, directories, databases and newspapers.
The Association of Bookseller and Publisher Training Organisations in Europe (ABPTOE)
A pan-European association of nationally recognised training organisations, including the Publishing Training Centre, committed to raising professional standards for publishing and book retailing.
LaBooM (Languages for the Book and Media Sector)
A language competence project geared towards people in the book and media sector - PTC is one of twelve partners involved in the programme.
Bookcareers.com specialises in career development and coaching for people in the book industry, so if you want to keep on top of your training get in touch with them. They are independent from any recruitment consultants or training company, so are in a position to give confidential impartial advice. They also offer outplacement and support in overcoming workplace bullying and work-related stress.

A celebration of books and reading which this year takes place on 6 March. One of its main aims is to encourage children to discover the pleasures of reading and schools across the UK hod events to mark the occasion.
