This course provides a practical guide to international selling and shows you:


  • how to select and target international markets
  • how to achieve profitable sales in an increasingly competitive market environment
  • how to deal with cultural diversity issues
  • how to establish a successful market presence.


It is aimed at publishing, sales and other personnel with an interest in expanding their international business.

  • Planning and establishing an International sales strategy

  • Selecting and managing agents, distributors and reps
  • Preparing for international sales visits
  • Operating successfully in the international marketplace and reaping the rewards


Your tutor
Esther Heasman has over 20 years’ experience in international sales having worked for major publishers like Mitchell Beazley, Nelson Thornes and Letts/Granada Learning before becoming a freelance consultant and writer. Her specialist areas are export sales, marketing and rights. She regularly delivers training workshops abroad as well as customised, in-company training programmes for the Publishing Training Centre. Extensively travelled, she has first hand knowledge and experience of international book markets.
