If you are new to managing a website and need to untangle the more technical language involved in a safe learning environment, this is the course for you. We are not intending, in one day, to turn you into a “techie”, but we will give you enough knowledge of the jargon to enable you to work with your suppliers and to understand what you can do in-house.
You may already be hot on the content-side of the business, but if you don’t know your CRM from your CSS here is an overview of how all the key elements fit together.
At the end of this course you will:
- be able to identify the key components that allow the web to function
- understand the core terminology used when discussing the web
- have discussed the types of software available (content management systems, ecommerce software, databases)
- have looked at the end users interaction with the website and be aware of design principles and basic usability theory
- have been introduced to some of the emerging online trends and evaluated them against their own objectives.
