This intensive, practical editing course will give you skills that will stay with you throughout your career. It's your chance to:

 

  • learn to mark up copy correctly using the BSI symbols
  • become more confident about what you should change and how to do it
  • practise copy-editing in subject areas outside your comfort zone.

 

Whether you work on screen or on paper, if you’re working on your first manuscripts, this course will give you the fundamental skills you need. Our most established course, it has become a rite of passage for new copy-editors and is highly regarded by all major publishers.


You’ll get expert tuition on various aspects of copy-editing, after which you’ll have the chance to put your new knowledge to the test in a variety of exercises.


Your tutor will always be on hand to help and we’ll also give you a folder of comprehensive reference material for you to take away. What’s more, after the course, you’ll have three months’ access to a web site containing additional exercises and other material, which you can use to refresh your skills.
