Taking on the management of a web site can be a daunting task. Content management, accessibility, (X)HTML, search engine optimisation, CSS, JavaScript – the field is awash with jargon that can seem opaque and off-putting.

This course will provide:

  • experience of editing pages and publishing them using Adobe Dreamweaver
  • an overview of web technologies such as Flash, JavaScript and Content Management Systems
  • an understanding of HTML
  • an understanding of accessibility issues and search engine optimisation.

The course is intended for editors, managers, administrators, designers, and other non-technical users. It will begin with an overview of terms and technologies before moving on to hands-on practical exercises, first looking at HTML (the simple mark-up language that creates most web pages), before moving on to editing and updating a site, using the industry standard software, Adobe Dreamweaver.
