Proofreading and Editing Training Online
Much of this material is freely available to anyone. Not only does it provide a useful taster, it also forms the pre-course material for those booked on our proofreading / copy-editing courses. For full access to the online material, you need to have booked on one of these qualifying courses.
Online training in proofreading
The qualifying open courses are Proofreading for Editors, Proofreading Promotional Material and Proofreading for Non-Publishers. Making full use of the pre-course material will help to ensure you get the most out of the open course.
When you arrive at Book House, you will be given a key that will give you access to a wealth of extra material, to help consolidate what you have learnt. This key is valid for three months after the date you first use it to register. To qualify you must have booked on an open course that took place on or after 16 October 2003.
If you've booked on Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning, you will find the free-to-access material invaluable as you work your way through the first part of the course. You will be sent your key with unit four, giving you access for six months after the date you first use it to register. To qualify, you must have enrolled on or after 16 October 2003.

The qualifying open courses are Copy-Editing Skills, Editing Skills for Non-Publishers, Editing Illustrated Books and Editing Scientific, Technical and Medical Texts. Making full use of the pre-course material will help to ensure you get the most out of the open course.

This key is valid for three months after the date you first use it to register. To qualify you must have booked on an open course that took place on or after 19 May 2003.
If you've booked on Copy-Editing by Distance Learning (or its predecessor, Basic Editing), you will find the free-to-access material invaluable as you work your way through the first part of the course. You will be sent your key with module five, giving you access for six months after the date you first use it to register. To qualify, you must have enrolled on or after 19 May 2003.
