Stephen Mesquita

Stephen Mesquita works as a consultant for travel publishers worldwide, advising on strategy and marketing. He is the publisher of the annual Nielsen BookScan Travel Publishing Year Book, which offers the travel publishing industry a detailed analysis of sales and trends. He is a Visiting Lecturer at London City University, teaching the Marketing module in the MA Publishing and is also an occasional guest lecturer at Oxford Brookes.

Stephen started his career in magazine subscription promotion before working in export sales of travel guides. He worked for 17 years in the Publishing Division of the Automobile Association, setting up the International Sales Division before going on to be Sales and Marketing Director and then Managing Director. During his time in international sales he flew 1.2m miles and he has just attended his 34th Frankfurt Book Fair.

Stephen is married with one daughter, lives in Basingstoke and, when he’s not working, goes walking and bird watching.
