Peter Oates

Peter Oates is Director and Lead Consultant of Oates and Oates Limited, an independent consultancy established in 2007 to provide services in educational publishing.

Peter has worked for a number of prominent publishers both in the UK and overseas. His most recent in-house appointment was with Nelson Thornes, based in Cheltenham, where he was Head of Publishing for both the primary and vocational divisions and manager of Nelson Thornes's distance learning service, delivering A Level courses in various subjects to over 240 secondary schools via video conference tutorials.

He has been International Sales Director for Thomas Nelson (UK) and has held a number of senior positions with Macmillan in Hong Kong and in southern Africa.

Peter's publishing clients have included Pearson, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Nelson Thornes, Folens, and Capstone Library. He has also conducted projects for Eduserv and for the schools forum of Gloucestershire County Council.
