Clare Painter

Clare Painter has been involved with rights, contracts and copyright since the start of her career. She has been negotiating digital licensing agreements since the mid 1990s when she was Rights Director at Helicon Publishing, the pioneer in multi-platform electronic and multimedia reference publishing. She now assists publishers new to digital publishing, guiding them through widely varying business models and negotiating licensing contracts. Claire runs her own consultancy, Rights Direction Ltd, is an associate of licensing agency Attwooll Associates, and acts as copyright and permissions consultant for journal authors at Oxford University Press.
